Omar Al-Kassab

Omar is a management consultant with experience assisting boards and executive teams to solve their most complex problems including strategy, growth, and organisational effectiveness topics across the private and public sectors. He is currently a Senior Consultant at Baringa Partners and has previously worked across Deloitte Australia and Right Lane Consulting.

Omar joined the board of HBE in July 2023 inspired by the HBE’s purpose of leveling the playing field of education. Omar is passionate about providing access to higher quality education and equipping young people, especially those with diverse backgrounds, with the right skills and knowledge to unlock their potential and contribute to the community in their full capacity. This has stemmed from his lived experience arriving in Melbourne from Syria in 2014 and making a new life in Australia facing obstacles navigating a new education system.

Omar is a non-executive director for Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre and has previously spent time as an advisor to the board of directors at the Bennelong Foundation. Omar holds a Bachelor of Business degree (majoring in finance and accounting) from RMIT University.

Omar holds a global peace award from His Majesty Carl XVI Gustav, the King of Sweden. He also loves coffee, hiking, and his two cats.
